This Cisn’t Funny! | Trans+ History Week Comedy Showcase
Diageo HQ, as you’d expect, has a real bar on site and the cocktails were high-end, some of the best I’ve ever had in fact. Predictably this led to me being pissed after the second and utterly shitfaced by the eighth. No wonder I laughed so much. It took about three days to dry out. The nicest cocktail was Intersex on the Beach (phnarr), the pornstar martini a close second (too pie-eyed to see how that one got queered name-wise).
Review of comedy: Alex Franklin’s Gurl Code
I’m pleased to say that the show did make me laugh, unlike the clip above. Quite a lot actually and Franklin was a likeable performer, unlike the clip above. I do think the new performance style owes quite a lot to Russell Brand, or possibly Jordan Gray, Brand’s very own mini-me.
Review of Dylan Mulvaney’s ‘FAGHAG’
If we were strictly here to review Dylan’s talents as a comedic performer, we’d probably say quite a few nice things. As we already all know, he’s the all-dancing all-singing kooky goofball. But that’s not what we’re here to talk about. We need to talk about Dylan. A man, who for fifteen minutes pretended he was transitioning, wrongly boarded a unstoppable train, which he now can’t get off. This show is a partial attempt to slow down that train so that he can jump off without breaking limbs.
Review of Grayson Perry’s: A Show All About You
The show promised to explore identity and that it would literally make us ‘reassess who you really are’. Perry alternately explained to us that identity was extremely important, whilst also claiming it wasn’t a replacement for personality. One idea that he clearly wanted the audience to take away though, was that our identity requires the buy in and support of other people.
Review of Jordan Gray’s – ‘Is it a bird?’
I have wanted to slate this show since Little Jordan got his Little Penis out to play the piano on C4 whilst screaming the immortal words “Imma better [woman] than you!” because he can do anal and squirt.
